Course Description

The course is designed to enhance the competencies of health officials to manage programs, multiple hospital projects and centralized equipment procurement at various levels of the health care systems. This course introduces the fundamental elements of health planning, equipment procurement, monitoring and evaluation of hospital programs in the public and private sectors.

·         Analysis of hospitalequipment procurement

·         Issues related to equipment procurement.

DAY 3

·         Procurement: traditional and modern purchasing processes

·         Designing purchasing processes

·         Financial and personnel factors as related to the procurement and maintenance of equipment

·         The issue of appropriate technology.

DAY 4

·         Analysis of financial evaluation of equipment procurement

·         Monitoring and evaluation of hospital projects

·         Effective project implementation and monitoring processes

·         Monitoring and reporting systems

·         Issues and challenges affecting health planning, procurement, monitoring and evaluation.

DAY 5

·         Case Studies

·         Group Exercises: Project design and implementation
