Design Requirements for Structures without Faults

Start Date: 14 Jan 2018
End Date: 18 Jan 2018
Duration: 5
Country: Morocco
Category: Engineering and Technical Programs

One of the main targets of the engineers is to build a structure free of faults. Life time of any structures depends on the process from the first step as an idea and then design process, construction process, commissioning process. Structures should be safe, durable, healthy and economy. To get safe structures codes should be applied.

Faults in structures during its life time should be controlled by many tools. This course deals with the design requirements to get structures without faults, structural design and strengthening of structures.

It may be said that a structure that has withstood the combined effects of use, abuse, loads, and environmental conditions over time has, in fact, proven itself. However, buildings and other structures do deteriorate with time because of repeated loadings, exposure to the elements, aging of materials, wear and tear from normal use, abuse, inadequate maintenance, and other factors.

Engineers and managers working in the field of design, construction and maintenance of high rise structures often feel the lack of a comprehensive practical guide on the practice, needs and effective programs of good design and strengthening. Few practical references are available that bridge the gap between theoretical, technical, practical and managerial matters in this regard.

Who should attend:

This course is designed to meet the needs of engineers, managers, contractors, municipal building inspectors, designers and professionals, and owners /managers of buildings who are working in the area of construction, and facing the challenges of maintaining and preserving good, sound buildings. It is specifically useful for structural engineers, construction and supervision engineers, owners and managers of constructed facilities.
