Introduction overview

This Course covers a broad range of competences covering the maintenance and test of protection instrumentation and control devices. These competences will prepare you for entry into the engineering or manufacturing sectors, creating a progression between education and employment, or they will provide a basis for the development of additional skills and occupational competences in the working environment.
A reliability enhancing technique related to preventive maintenance of critical instruments and functions, but generally not as expensive as component replacement, is periodic testing of component and system function.

Course Objective

Upon the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:-

1.     Differentiate between process control and safety control

2.     Implement the IEC61508,  IEC 61511 and ISA84 standard

3.     The potential consequences of insufficient or inappropriate maintenance of IPF devices.

4.     Evaluate process risk levels

5.      Calculate Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) using a variety of techniques

6.      Analyze the performance of different logic system technologies

7.      Analyze the performance of various sensor, logic, and final element configurations,

8.     Specify and select safety instrumented systems

9.     Apply the documentation requirements for process safety management, regulations, and industry standards

10. The permit requirements for working on IPF devices / system.

11. Learn the fundamentals of control systems and how they are used to monitor, control, and optimize operations.

12. Learn the Logical/Analytical Troubleshooting Frameworks

13. Learn the Maintenance Management Systems

14. Describe different Control Systems Modes and its implementation

15. Use ICS management and how quality controlled in the oil and gas production (industries)

16. Provide the researches, engineers, operators and technicians with most of the information that help them achieving a production target
